“I wrote ‘Take Two’ after a series of reminders that this is the only life we get, and I didn’t want to waste it waiting,” shares Dani. “The first came unexpectedly in an Uber on the way to the airport for a spontaneous trip. The driver said, ‘Life ain’t a dress rehearsal.’ I immediately told him that line was going in a song.”

The message resurfaced weeks later after the passing of her uncle, when her grandfather urged her to keep chasing her dreams while she could. Dani carried the song with her for years, its meaning deepening over time. When her co-writer John Cirillo later passed away, Dani and fellow collaborator Sam performed “Take Two” at his memorial, a moment that transformed the song from a personal reminder into a powerful mission statement. That performance not only solidified the track’s release but inspired the EP that will follow.
