Rising country singer Dallas Smith Releases New Single “Wastin’ Gas”

There’s several ways you could have heard of Dallas Smith in the past. Maybe was it from his time as the frontman of the international rock band Default. Maybe was it from the time he opened for music legend Bob Seger. Or maybe was it during Florida Georgia Line’s HERE’S TO THE GOOD TIMES TOUR. Either way, if you’re even just a little bit into country music, you’ve heard that name before.

Fresh from his win as Best New Country Artist at the 2013 CMW Radio Award, Smith released his EP “Tippin’ Point” early this year. The lead single “Tippin’ Out” recently became the highest selling digital single by a Canadian artist and I’m pretty sure his new single “Wastin’ Gas,” is up to the same successful fate. “Wastin’ Gas” has already been welcomed with open arms by US country radio stations, making its debut on Sirius XM’s The Highway.

The lyrics of the song, produced by Joey Moi, take you back to the days you’d just fill your tank, and go on a drive with your favorite person, not caring about the destination but only about the company. The instruments and steady drumbeat serve to amplify Smith’s voice without overtaking it, making of “Wastin’ Gas” a song that you won’t resist turning up and singing along with.

The song is now available at iTunes and will be featured on Smith’s forthcoming Big Loud Mountain full-length album, Lifted, due November 25th.

Before heading on his very first headlining 20-city TIPPIN’ POINT TOUR across Canada early 2015 (with special guests Charlie Worsham and Kentucky Best), Smith will embark on Florida Georgia Line’s 4-days-long cruise out of Miami starting November 8th.
