What was growing up on a farm in Canada like?
Growing up on the farm was was an amazing experience, and I never take it for granted. I had all of the freedom you could imagine growing up, and I’m super thankful for that! I also learned to work hard and never give up – which I believe helped me get to where I am now in life. My family has some of the hardest working folks I’ve ever met, and they taught me so much about life; forever thankful for growing up on that farm.
Would you say it helped shape you to become a musician?
I think I’ve always had a passion for music that stemmed from my grandfather on my dad’s side. After the chores were done on the farm, you would usually find him in his living room plucking away on his old guitar. He wasn’t much of a singer but, but he tried. Growing up in the country definitely pushed me towards the genre of music I’m in as well; everyone listened to it, and there was no escaping that sound.

Tell us about winning the Emerging Artist Showcase.
Winning the showcase was amazing. I’ve never dreamed of playing on a stage like that, let alone in front of that many people. It was a huge blessing to have won and have been apart of the showcase among so many incredibly talented musicians. That moment was the turning point in my life and my career. I will remember it for the rest of my life.
Who are some of your influences?
There are so many incredible artists that have shaped me as a musician. I can’t list them all, but some of my first influences were the classic sounds of George Strait, Keith Whitley and Randy Travis.
If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive who would it be?
I would love to sing with Shania Twain and or Randy Travis; I absolutely love their style and their contribution to music.

When can we hear more music?
I’ll be heading to Nashville to write and record this next month. We have a few songs that we’ve written that I’m beyond excited about and I can’t wait for everyone to hear. Stay tuned, I hope to have some out very soon!
Do you have a set structure for making music?
Not really, no. Some writers have their style down to a science, I don’t. Ideas and melodies come to me at the most random of times. Sometimes I start with lyrics and other times I start with the melody.
Is there any opportunity to play your new music live?
I’ve had the most amazing opportunities to go out on tour and play shows around the country this year. I’m hoping to play more shows this year and play for as many people that want to hear me. There’s no better feeling in the world!

Where would you aspire to be in five years?
I hope to be touring all over the world, I love music and it would be such a blessing to be able to play it internationally! For now, I’ll keep grinding and doing my thing. Stoked for the future!
Congratulations on your engagement! Is your bride to be your muse? And have you started wedding planning?
Thank you so much, she’s honestly the sweetest girl – I really lucked out! As far as planning goes, we do a bit here and there, but we are both pretty scatterbrained so I feel like some of the planning is going to be left to last minute!
