One Ok Rock Live Review

By  |

If you haven’t heard of One Ok Rock, you soon will. The band from Japan who made it’s first U.S. tour on Vans Warped Tour in 2012. The four members Taka, Toru, Ryota, and Tomoya gave one hell of a performance at House of Blues on September 29th. Even though the band is much more popular in Japan, they do have their dedicated fans here in the states that spanned three blocks two hours before doors waiting in line to get as close to the front row as possible.

We got to speak with Taka before their show. I am amazed by all of the bands’ English, my Japanese is nonexistent. You know how in reviews the writer says something along the lines of “their energy was insane”? This band’s energy makes the energy of most acts seem like child’s play. The band has so much passion and fun with what they’re doing it’s not hard to see it on their faces. They just released their English album, recorded in Los Angeles and played songs off of it. Taka even admits that he may like the English version better than the Japanese. I tried listening to a few Japanese versions and they sounded phenomenal, I just couldn’t understand what they were saying obviously.

Bands usually have some fan interaction but the band gave a new meaning of interaction. They were always amping the crowd up and giving some of the most rocking facials I’ve ever seen.

Definitely give these four guys a chance and check out their headlining tour and their upcoming shows with All Time Low.
