Listen & Lyrics: Hayley Williams ‘My Limb’

By  |

Hayley Williams surprised fans with her album FLOWERS for VASES / descansos

Williams wrote and recorded the record at her home. “My Limb” compares a failed relationship to amputating a body limb. The lyrics project vivid imagery and the song itself is absolutely breathtaking.

“This isn’t really a follow-up to Petals For Armor. If anything, it’s a prequel, or some sort of detour between parts 1 and 2 of Petals,” Williams said of the record. “The meaning of the album as a whole is maybe entirely different from diving into each song in particular.”

‘My Limb’ Lyrics by Hayley Williams

If you gotta amputate

Don’t give me the tourniquet

You wished that I would runaway

Sever what isn’t working

But I’ll let my body bleed out

Leaning to my left side

If your part of me is gone now

Do I wanna survive?

My limb

Don’t let go

My limb

Let go

Funny, of the two of us

You always were the gentle one

Shy little rabbit

Teething on a shotgun

I guess we were collateral damage

Kissin in the crossfire

Limpin over dead leaves

I wish that they would cover me

My limb

Don’t let go

My limb

Let go

Don’t let go my limb

Don’t let go my limb

Let go
