Food Network In Concert Recap!

The first ever Food Network In Concert happened right here in our backyard at Ravinia in Highland Park, IL.  With your favorite Food Network stars hosting including Sunny Anderson, Jeff Mauro, Anne Burrell, Jose Garces, Alex Guarnaschelli, Marc Murphy, and Geoffrey Zakarian in attendance.  Concert go-ers got to eat with their favorite chefs and meet them up close and personally.  Musical performances included John Mayer, Phillip Phillips, Twin Forks, California Wives, Zane Carney, DJ Alexandra Richards, Raul Midon, Josh Kaufman, Caitlyn Smith, and DJ Safire.

If you’ve never been to Ravinia, it’s quite hard and detailed to explain.  Picture a gorgeous park with multiple venues inside the venue.  All through the park grounds were chefs ready to feed your bellies, with a great selection of wine.  The event started at 11 a.m. bright and early with only minimal light showers throughout the day.  The day offered meet and greets with your favorite stars, lunches, dinners, snacks, wine tasting, life size Jenga, panels, live music, and sweets!  It was all around an incredible day, the only thing I would like to see happen is have more vegetarian/vegan options.

Closing out the night was Phillip Phillips and John Mayer.  It was one of the most incredible sights to see everyone sitting and laying in the grass with candles drinking wine and having the crooner himself, singing his heart out to everyone swaying with the rhythm. I would highly recommend you check out any other Food Network events, they certainly know how to put on a production.  Let’s hope for year 2 next year!
