Fashion Meets Music Festival: Quick Guide to CBus

By  |

I honestly can’t think of anywhere else for a budding fashion/music festival to take place. Columbus is a great city with a ton of attitude underneath its layers. If you’re not from around here, then you may not get us. We’re a city with a ton of pride in ourselves. We’re self-starters, groundbreakers, and innovators. We always have someone who is thinking of the next big thing. So I’m here to tell you about some of the best things to do here in Downtown Cbus while attending the FMMF (Fashion meets Music Festival)

This big event is happening right in the heart of all the action. The Arena District and the Short North are some of the most notorious areas of Columbus. Featuring great dining, shopping and nightlife; you really will find something for everyone when you’re in these neighboring areas of town. I know you’re definitely going to get hungry while you’re here. Have no fear though, we have you covered! With a basically unlimited option of food trucks and restaurants, you’re bound to stumble upon something to satisfy your taste buds. For those who believe in a more organic and healthy option I would suggest Bareburger & Northstar. However if you want something with a little more…grease, check out Late Night Slice or Melt. Both restaurants provide tons of options that are sure to clog an artery or two. If you’re into upscale dining Hyde Park & The Pearl are some of my favorites. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the atmosphere of the Short North along with some of the best food in Columbus.

Now just because the festival ends at 11 doesn’t mean you should go to sleep right away. There are tons of options to keep the party going all night long. The great thing about bars in Columbus is that they are always fun and pull in a great crowd. If you’re looking for strong drinks with a cool atmosphere I would check out Bakersfield, Union and Pint House. These are some of the Short North’s hottest bars, plus the perfect setting to chat with your friends over your favorite acts. If you’re looking to dance the night away, you’ll probably want to stop by Park Street District. Boasting more than 10 bars and clubs, it’s the best place to go if you’re looking to get a little rowdy and party like a rock star.

One last piece of quick advice. If all of this seems a lot for you and you just want to go with the flow always just stay near High Street. It’s basically the main drag for all things entertainment in Downtown Columbus. You’ll find galleries, shops, dining, bars & clubs. All within a hop, skip and a jump from each other. It’s definitely the most popular area for locals and out of towners alike. With new places opening up every weekend, you’ll quickly find out why it’s the place to see and be seen.

Now this is just some of what Columbus has to offer. We really are a diverse city with TONS of options from daytime fun to nightlife. So don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone a little if you visit.

Like I said before we have just about something for everyone, so it shouldn’t be too hard for you to fall in love with Columbus like I have. If you have any questions shoot me a tweet (@thatgabeguy), I’d be
