1. Who are your inspirations for your music?
——-I’m inspired by so many amazing artists! Early on, Elvis was a huge inspiration to me because he was the whole package! A great singer, dancer and all around performer, not to mention an actor! Modern day inspirations are Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake!
2. How did you get started?
——-Singing is all I’ve ever wanted to do! In high school I would sing anywhere and everywhere just to be in front of people! All kinds of crazy restaurants and empty festivals! I got an awesome opportunity to audition for a woman who is now my manager, and 5 days later she threw me on a show opening for Big Time Rush in front of 20,000 people! Ever since then, it’s been a ride!
3. When did you start singing or knew you wanted to sing?
———Since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to sing! I still have a drawing of myself from second grade with the caption “I’m Spencer, and I will be a singer”
4. Who are your favorite bands/singers?
———-I love so many artists! Some of my personal favorites are Bruno Mars, Justin Timerlake, Gavin Degraw, The Temptations and Elvis!
5. What do you think about when your preforming?
———It’s crazy because I enter a whole different world! I just make sure to remember one thing: Soak this in. This is real.
6. What else can we expect from you in the future?
———Everything! I will be heading on tours, putting out new music and much more 🙂
7. If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?
———-Probably hip hop! I love rap and actually do a little myself. I have some hip hop elements in my music already!
8. What does your single “Heartstrings” mean to you?
———-“Heartstrings” is really important to me because it comes from a real place. It’s a true story that I went through, but I think everyone has experienced being with someone who is hot and cold. It means a lot to me to be able to connect to fans.
9. If you could perform with any artist who would you pick and why?
———-Taylor Swift! Not only is she an amazing singer and performer, but her songwriting is awesome and so relatable! I would be cool with her writing a song about me too. Just throwing that out there….
10. How did you team up with Stefanie Scott and can we expect more songs in the future?
———-Stefanie’s manager heard me sing and asked if I wanted to do a song with Stefanie. I absolutely wanted to because Stef has such an amazing voice! We covered “Everything Has Changed” by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran and the outcome was insane! The song got picked up by USA Today, Entertainment Tonight and MTV Buzzworthy! Stef and I are still great friends, and you might be able to expect something 🙂
