EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Gillian’s ‘Static’

By  |

“‘Static’ is about not wanting to go out on a Friday night, but also not wanting to miss anything. Static tells the story of getting ready for a night out when your head just isn’t in it. I actually wrote Static minutes before leaving my house to go out with my friends, feeling like I didn’t want to go, but I also didn’t want to miss out. Eventually, I forced myself to go. Static is special to me because it captures a feeling that I think is underrepresented. It’s okay to not want to go to that party! I think that the music industry can glorify constant parties and events, when the truth is that no one wants to live in constant stimulation. Recording Static was such an amazing experience. A simple acoustic song turned into so much more, and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
