LOS ANGELES, CA—(Marketwired – Feb 19, 2015)

Multi-platinum selling recording artist, songwriter and actress Demi Lovato will voice the female lead Lenore in the 3QU Media animated feature film production of Charming. In addition, Lovato will executive produce the film’s music score. The announcement was made today by producer John H. Williams, the original producer of the Oscar®-winning Shrek, as well as Valiant and Space Chimps.

Demi Lovato is a singer, songwriter, and television star with a fan base that includes over 27 million die-hard Twitter followers and 38 million fans on Facebook. She is a platinum-selling recording artist whose latest album, Demi, hit #1 on iTunes in over 50 countries around the world. The lead single, “Heart Attack,” earned Platinum status just 10 weeks after its launch. Lovato recently wrapped the North American and European legs of her world tour in November and is heading to Australia, New Zealand and Asia this year. DEMI WORLD TOUR followed her first headlining and sold-out NEON LIGHTS TOUR, named after her platinum single and Top 5 radio hit off her album, Demi.

In 2014 Demi released Staying Strong: A Journal to coincide with her New York Times best-selling book, Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year, and launched her skin care line, DEVONNE by Demi and hair extension line, Secret Color. Lovato was also named the first ever Global Ambassador for NYC New York Color Cosmetics and is the current face of SKECHERS’ Global Campaign. As an outspoken advocate for young people everywhere, Lovato has become a role model by talking openly about her personal experiences and speaking out against bullying, among other issues. She serves as an official Ambassador for We Day as well as Free the Children and recently launched The Lovato Treatment Scholarship Program, which helps people struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues cover the cost of treatment.

“We are thrilled that Demi Lovato will voice the character of the Prince’s true love Lenore and that she will executive produce the music for our film,” said producer John H. Williams. “3QU Media’s goal is to produce mainstream animated family films with elements of comedy, adventure, romance and personal inspiration. Demi’s contributions will help make Charming a cross-platform hit film.”

In September, Williams and Henry Skelsey announced the formation of 3QU Media, a CG-animated feature film company funding family films for the international marketplace. The company’s initial slate of four films, with budgets under $20 million, kicks off with Charming.

Directed by Ross Venokur from his original script, Charming is an irreverent animated comedy that re-imagines the tales of three iconic princesses: Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, who find they are all engaged to the same Prince Charming! Venokur is also the director of the CG animated film Animal Crackerz starring John Leguziamo, John Cleese and Wil Forte.

Charming is a 3QU Media Production of a Vanguard Animation film in association with WVE. SC Films International is handling foreign sales. Production has commenced at Cinesite’s (Edge of Tomorrow, World War Z and Harry Potter) new animation studio in Montreal. John Williams is producer; Ross Venokur is the director and screenwriter.

Henry F. Skelsey has spent over 30 years in the private equity industry, as a Founder of Fulton Capital Management, a Managing Director at AEA Investors LP, and as a Vice President in the Private Equity Group at Lehman Brothers in New York City.
John H. Williams’ producer credits include Shrek (Academy Award® winner) and Shrek 2; Executive Producer of Shrek 3 and 4; co-Executive Producer of Puss in Boots, and producer of the independently financed and produced Space Chimps, Valiant and Happily N’ever After.
