Chesko Premieres First Single “Rise Up”

By  |

After the success of his single “Apart,” released in February 2019, 21-year-old Spanish DJ/producer Chesko kept making waves throughout the year by collaborating with various artists such as Rizha and DaWave, and releasing a couple of remixes including his most recent take on Billie Eilish’s “Xanny”. Slowly but surely, Chesko developped a strong following thanks to the clean percussive elements joined by innovative uses of the voice that became his signature sound.

Now, as this year comes to an end, the Madrilenian is ready for new challenges!

Today, Chesko presents “Rise Up”, the highly anticipated first single of his upcoming debut album Inside Gen. The single, which marks the producer’s second released collaboration with DaWave, opens with a huge layering of different voices which cascade into piano, which is bound to be the main instrument of the album.

“As this album is a journey through the past years of my life, I wanted to make the piano one of the main aspects of it, just as it has always been an important part of my life and as it was the instrument that introduced me to music,” Chesko shared. The album journals his early teenage years, back when the artist really struggled with anxiety.

“I wanted to make ‘Rise Up’ the first single of the album because it represents the will to fight back and not give up, even when sometimes you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you let the monster inside take control, it gets to a point where nothing else matters and you start to lose everything and everyone around you. This track is a message to anyone in this situation. Try and fight back because taking back control of your life is more important.”
